The Leaf and Stem Anatomy of Two Endemic Salvia (Section Salvia, Lamiaceae) from Turkey: S. aucheri subsp. canascens and S. heldrichiana

Salvia L. has a wide variety of traditional usages as digestive, appetizer, carminative, antiseptic, stimulant, pain reliever, antipyretic, diuretic, antitussive and for bronchitis, asthma cold. Anatomical features are extremely important the taxonomy species, especially leaf stem represent many specific characteristics. The aim this study is to determine distinctive anatomical structures S. aucheri subsp. canascens (Boiss. & Heldr.) Celep, Kahraman Doğan heldreichiana Boiss. comparatively. transverse-sections were taken from two species. They differ in characters like type, which bifacial hypostomatic monofacial amphistomatic heldreichiana. Besides, surfaces both species covered by different types glandular trichomes. midrib contains big vascular bundle three bundles Additionally, surface glabrous while pilose In conclusion, our results contributed confirmed importance anatomy level genus.
